Meeting the MPs

May 18th 2009

We asked several MPs if they'd meet readers who'd been moved on by the police before street counts. We are not knocking the job the police do, merely questioning whether they're the best people to be talking to rough sleepers and whether they should be tasked by a council. One senior MP agreed to meet with a group of concerned readers straight away, and as we go to press they'll be talking to him in Portcullis House opposite the House of Commons. We'll report what was said and what might happen next.
