Kitchen fight continues

March 13th 2014

A Walthamstow soup kitchen involved in a long-running dispute with the local council has been given a court date for the judge to rule on its application for Judicial Review.

The Christian Kitchen in Waltham Forest has operated out of the Mission Grove car park for over 20 years. However the council claim the soup van is causing a social disturbance and wants to move them to a further out site.

The hearing was due to take place at the end of February. A petition on Change.org had attracted over 1,600 to date.
