Newly arriving refugees are at a high risk of becoming homeless due to the ‘chaotic system of government support’, according to the charity Refugee Council.
Many refugees are ending up sleeping on the streets because of a four-week limit they have to secure accommodation and a job with a good enough wage to support themselves, according to reports in the Guardian.
These unrealistic targets were estimated to have made 9,768 newly recognised refugees homeless last year alone.
