Rough sleeper murdered

May 20th 2009
A man who was sleeping rough was murdered in the early hours of Saturday 9th September. Gary Turner, 43, was found dead in Stratford, east London, two days before he was due to move into accommodation. He had died of head and abdominal injuries. Police investigating the murder are looking for three men who they believe assaulted him around an hour before the body was found at 6.20am. The motive for the attack is unknown, and it is unclear whether Turner knew his attackers. Police are appealing for witnesses on the 158 bus that passed The Grove around the time of the attack.
