Croydon hut eviction

May 25th 2009

A rough sleeper, who had been using a tin railway hut for shelter, has been evicted by police in Croydon, south London. British Transport Police took action after neighbours complained about the man living in the hut and lighting fires to cook. The man, believed to be in his 50s, was arrested on Monday 9th March, but not charged, and offered support from local social services. The tin hut was dismantled to prevent his return.
