New Kennington home will ease pressure on West Norwood hub

Emmaus has opened a new residential home in Kennington.

St Luke’s will house 27 Emmaus “companions”, who will also work in one of the charity’s social enterprises restoring donated furniture or working in one of its second-hand furniture shops.

The building has been provided by West London Mission, who will run IT and finance skills sessions. Emmaus says the plan is to move “veterans” who have been with the charity for a while to the new centre, freeing up space for new referrals at the existing West Norwood hub.

Last month’s launch of the new service was attended by the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker-Bowles.
