Camden health cuts

May 18 2009
Primary Care Trust cuts lead to fears for the future of Tottenham Mews walk-in centre Funds for the Camden Primary Care Trust (PCT) are to be cut by £1.2m over the next two years, leading to fears for the future of Tottenham Mews walk-in centre, which is due to be "reconfigured" and its staff "redeployed." Campaigners are worried that this means the well-known mental health centre will be axed. The Care Trust Estates Strategy 2006-2011 lists Tottenham Mews as part of the plans for relocation relating to the University College London Hospital (UCLH) development. Possible solutions explored by the Care Trust include relocating the walk-in centre to Arthur Stanley House, alongside the psychology services on the 2nd Floor of the Royal Free Hospital, Hunter Street and the Rosenheim Building. However, mental health chiefs are still discussing the changes to the service in Camden.
