Knock ‘em dead at your next interview with a proper City suit The charity Crisis has made a large number of free suits available to the homeless, in an attempt to persuade more people to pursue any opportunities for job interviews. The donated suits were provided by several City firms and were picked up by scores of homeless people at Crisis' jobs fair that took place on 25th April at their headquarters in Commercial Street. Laura Phillips, Crisis Progression Manager, said that they hoped "the suits and other pieces of smart clothing will provide homeless job-seekers the confidence they need to impress future employers and work placement co-ordinators at interview stage." The initiative, called the Dress for Success programme, also provided advice on how to create a good CV by gaining relevant work experience. Also present were job preparation workers, college advisors, grant providers and volunteer co-coordinators. Crisis said it hopes to continue to receive suits from businesses that carry out their spring cleaning, in order to make them available again to the homeless in future job fairs.
