Homeless charity\'s crack house remains closed

May 22 2009
A Reading house made neighbours‘ lives "a living hell" before the January police raid A building kept by a homeless charity in Reading town centre and believed to be a crack house will remain closed after being shut down in March following a police investigation into drug dealing and prostitution. Described by neighbours as "making their lives a living hell", the crack house was raided in January, when police found traces of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy in all the rooms. Reading Single Homeless Project (RSHP) had requested the search. A spokesman for RSHP confirmed the charity was moving away from shared housing to flats and bedsits as part of a three-year business plan, so their lease with the private landlord who owns the crack house was being terminated.
