Shelter from the Storm

May 24 2009
Pete Postlethwaite opens a new Islington shelter where foxes previously lived Pete Postlethwaite, the star of The Age of Stupid, recently turned up in north London to open Shelter from the Storm, a new centre named after a Bob Dylan song. Just three backbreaking months after taking on a near-derelict warehouse housing only a colony of urban foxes, Islington residents Sheila Scott and Louie Salvoni have created bright, spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation for up to 25 guests, with a separate space for seven women. The project is open three days a week and will open for more days as money and volunteers permit. The shelter is by referral only; potential volunteers are asked to email shelterfromthestorm@live.co.uk
